![]() ![]() The surround sound setting is actually quite appealing which has surprised me as over the years I have had a few devices with pseudo-surround settings and they have always been a complete waste of time. I have actually turned the bass down quite considerably from the default. The sub is hugely powerful but is reasonably tight sounding with no bloat or boom AND it keeps time with the rest of the proceedings. The sub is heavy and huge! It is almost as big as the BK electronics sub I had for my HiFI!Īnyway, plugged it all in, expecting to be disappointed, and to my surprise it actually sounds pretty darn good! Detailed, dynamic and a much "fuller" sound than the previous 2. Overall the construction is very good and seems to be mostly wood and metal with a quality finish. The soundbar is a little longer than the previous 2 but actually looks good under the front of my LG 49" TV (bought from RS of course!) as it is almost the same width and the metallic finish on the 2 drivers ate either end almost match the colour of the bezel on the TV. ![]() So my final attempt, before looking for a small amp with separate bookshelf speakers, was the Klipsch Cinema 400. Wow, a soundbar that produces decent sound I had almost given up on finding a fairly compact decent sounding soundbar with wireless sub having originally bought a Cambridge TVB2 (quality construction, especially the sub, plenty of facilities - except the Bluetooth was very iffy - sound wise very forward, harsh and "thin") and then recently the Denon DHT-S416 (cheap construction - especially the sub - poor finish - Chromecast worked well but music sounded pretty dire - TV dialog not too bad but not that much of an improvement over the LG TV speakers or the CA TVB2 - the bass from the sub was bloated and woolly and seemed separate from the main sound!). The soundbar is programmable to learn your existing TV’s remote, meaning you can use your TV’s remote to control the soundbar’s volume.īoost the sound excitement from your TV, with the Klipsch Cinema 400.
